Trapped!

You wake in the wheelhouse of the SS Runaway, a massive, old sailing vessel. Slowly, you push yourself up off the splintery, wooden floor and slide your fingers into your hair, wincing at the throbbing lump on the back of your head. Confused, you shuffle over to the door, but it’s solid and bolted shut from the outside. Your pain is quickly replaced with panic. You squeeze your eyes shut tight and search for a memory of how you ended up here. And that’s when you remember your best friend. You grasp at your pockets for your cell phone. Empty. You begin frantically scanning the room for another way out when you spot a note pinned to the helm of the ship. Staggering over to the wheel, you rip off the piece of paper. In curly blue writing, it reads:

Welcome aboard the SS Runaway, where you can run, but you can’t get away.

I am the Captain, and you have been chosen to play a game with me. That is, if you would like to see your friend again. On the desk, you will find a list of coordinates to various locations around the world. Simply enter the coordinates into the ship’s navigation system; the SS Runaway will do the rest. She really is a special ship. At each location, you must figure out the clue. Each clue will open one of the locks that keep you as my guest. Once you have travelled the world and answered all the clues, your friend will be returned, and you will both be released.
