Horse Camping at Otter Creek!
Maximum occupancy - 4 horses and their riders. Just bring food and bedding for all. $75.00 per person, per night includes 4 safe box stalls, a full kitchen, hot shower, screened in porch, gas grill, fire pit, board games and trail maps. We are located right on the trail system so once you're settled in, no trailering is necessary.
Wandering Pines has direct access to 78,000 acres of the Independence River Wild Forest unit of the Adirondack Forest Preserve. The Wild Forests boasts 60+ miles of interlocking and fully mapped trails (the Otter Creek Trail System) and over 80 individual ponds and lakes ranging in size from 1/2 to 6200 acres.
Negative Coggins Tests are required. Wandering Pines and the Adirondack Park follow a strict 'carry in, carry out, leave no sign' policy!
Enjoy a step back in time, disconnected from the modern world. Bring your binoculars, bicycles, kayaks and innertubes for the full Otter Creek experience. If you must leave camp, the town of Lowville is only 11 miles down the pavement, where you will find the Lewis County General Hospital, Mennonite baked goods at Nolt's Country Store, warm homemade donuts and maple bacon at Miller's Market, a Super Walmart and a Tractor Supply (with a hitching rail!). Croghan, nine miles north, has a world class meat market, an old fashioned ice cream parlor and one of the best hardware stores around.
