Our sessions are a minimum of 60 minutes, and can span to as long as you would like them. We believe 60 minutes is adequate time to have a couple of 20 minute sections for the working brain to be in its best form without losing concentrations. we would break these up with some warm ups and an integration of game and activities catered to each learner.
We currently offer tutoring in-home, in a community setting (library) and online for students who are not within distance of us.
Of course we do, we don't see students ith additional needs any different to students without them. Every single student that we see is treated equally and is catered to individually. Our teacher, Kacey, has experience with many different learning abilities. In any capacity we endeavour to make this process as simple and easy for you as we can, because every child should have the chance to learn!
Absolutely! All of our Tutors have completed or are in the process of completing their education studies at a University level
We sure can, and you know what...we love to do them! Whether its a project, speech or drama assignment we are happy and excited to help your little wandering mind on their next task!
Yes, we can do that too! Our lessons are tailored to all students’ learning needs and with no strict program in place at our centre, our team is flexible in its teaching approach.
No, we have no contracts. If you are not 100% satisfied, you can cease tutoring at any time. If you would like to change tutors for any reason, this can also be organised for you. Please contact us directly at wanderingmindsAU@gmail.com
One of our friendly staff will meet with you when you arrive and introduce you to your child’s tutor so they feel comfortable and welcomed. We help your child enjoy their first tutoring experience as we know this can be daunting. One of our friendly staff will contact you after your child’s session to get some feedback to ensure it’s the right fit moving forward.
We are super flexible! We understand often schools bombard our students with homework and so we don’t want to add too much academic stress to our students. So, all of our parents are asked on their enrolment form to nominate if they wish for their Child to receive homework. Our Tutors are more than happy to provide homework at no additional cost to your tuition fees. You can also change your preference at any time. We do however send home spelling words, reading logs, and a worksheet or two if we feel this is something that may benefit the student.
We see relatively fast improvements in children’s confidence within one term of tutoring. Improving academic skills can take a little longer and every student learns at different paces. Most children experience academic improvements within 6, 12 or 18 months. We develop learning goals for all of our students and keep parents in the loop about their child’s progress.
You can contact your Tutors any time via email to request feedback. Our tutors keep a record of weekly comments and will happily discuss progress and areas they focused on in the sessions. Periodic feedback is provided through the form of a written report that is provided to Parents at the end of Term 2 and Term 4.
Every student is different and it is therefore difficult to put a timeframe on it. If there are significant gaps in knowledge and skills that need to be filled, then bridging the gap and getting your child to the level they need to be can take some time. To see improvements in your child, we recommend that your child attends tutoring for at least one term consistently.
We aren’t like the typical tutoring centres out there that have strict programs implemented. We hand select our resources and build our own programs using evidence-based practices. Our staff is trained and knowledgeable when it comes to planning lessons and so we believe our flexible approach is why our students love tutoring and why we see improvements in each and every one of our students.
Yes absolutely! All of our resources and teaching practices are aligned with the VIC curriculum. Our role is to support students so that when they attend school, the content taught makes more sense. We base our program on the skills your child needs to achieve at each stage level.
We can also look at other state curriculums if you are in another state (online tutoring) and cater the learning for that indivudual state too.
Tuition fees start from $60 per session for 1:1 tuition and range from $40 - $50 per student for family group bookings.
You are never locked in to a whole term at Wandering Minds Education, beginning term two 2024 we will be offering a 10 hour pass where you pay for 10 hours upfront at a discounted price, but these can be used over multiple terms if you start mid-term etc.
We anticipate that you will continue with tutoring into the following term, however this may or may not be the case. Therefore we towards the end of each term, we invite parents to complete a quick re-enrolment form online to let us know of your intentions.
No we don’t provide tutoring throughout school holidays. We believe this is a time to allow Students to enjoy their school holidays and take that much needed break so they can return at the beginning of each term refreshed and ready to learn.
We do however offer our Minding Wanderers childminding program where you can book us to come and care for your child/ren should you need it.
We offer EFTPOS on the day of tutoring, invoicing due within 7 days of tutoring or cash on the day.
