IIT Delhi is situated at Hauz Khas in South Delhi, which is a landmark place in the colourful and chequered history of Delhi. It is surrounded by Sri Aurobindo Marg on the east, the Jawaharlal Nehru University Complex on the west, the National Council of Educational Research and Training on the south, and the New Ring Road on the north. The institute campus is flanked by Qutub Minar and the Hauz Khas monuments. Well connected to the major city centres by open and wide roads, the institute campus is about 19 km. away from the Old Delhi Railway Station; 14 km. from the New Delhi Railway Station; 21 km. from the Inter-State Bus Terminal at Kashmere Gate and 10 km. from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.
How to reach IIT Delhi?
By train:
If your train is arriving at Old/New Delhi Railway Station, then take the Yellow Line Metro towards HUDA CITY CENTRE .
If your train is arriving at Hazrat Nizamuddin or Shahdara or Delhi Cantonment Station, then take a direct auto or pre-paid taxi to IIT Delhi. You may also take metro from these stations, click here to find out more about it.
By Bus:
In case you are arriving at the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at Kashmere Gate, walk to the Kashmere Gate Metro Station, take the YELLOW LINE Metro towards HUDA CITY CENTRE from Kashmere Gate. Rest of the steps are same as for the arrival by train.
By Flight:
If you arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport At Terminal T3/T2/T1, take a pre-paid or radio-taxi at the arrival lounge. Ola and Uber services are also available. Alternatively, you may take the Magenta Line Metro going towards Botanical Garden from Terminal 1 and de-board at IIT station. IIT-Delhi Main Gate is a two minute walk from IIT metro station.
