Stowell Galleries History

Kip and Nena Stowell founded Stowell Galleries in the 1970s. In 1976 they had a baby named Walton and raised him in a series of weird artsy spaces or "galleries". For more about the 'Stowell House and Galleries' properties, click this link.

Stowell Galleries hosted many artists over the years, as a local business, and participated in many other public and private art projects and shows.

As a private property residence with several other functions, Stowell Galleries was open to the public on weekends, for shows, or by appointment.

Gallery shows were combinations of short-term parties or open-house tours, and long-term exhibits lasting months or years.

Digitizing for documentation continues. Walton's favorites preserved in limited storage.

Walton's art continues to grow, with a focus on projects rather than shows or sales.
