I am an experimental psychologist at the KU Leuven (Brain and Cognition, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences). My main interest lies in inferences. I investigate these inferences in two main areas: deductive reasoning and pragmatics.
With respect to deductive reasoning, my current research focuses on spatial reasoning and reasoning with incompatibility statements.
With respect to pragmatics, my current research focuses on implicatures.
In the interdisciplinary research project "BITSHARE: Bitstring Semantics for Human and Artificial Reasoning" we try to combine both interest, and this in collaboration with Hans Smessaert (Faculty of Arts), Lorenz Demey (Institute of Philosophy), Jan Heylen (Institute of Philosophy) and Joost Vennekens (Department of Computer Science).
