The Walnut Street New Orleans Jazz Band

The Walnut Street New Orleans Jazz Band was formed in Winston-Salem to provide traditional Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) entertainment. Members of the band come from many backgrounds including Music Education, Community Bands, and Jazz Ensembles, and they have performed with Larry Elgart, Rosie O’Grady’s Good Time Jazz Band, The Drifters, Frank Fontaine, New Christy Minstrels, the Philharmonia of Greensboro,  The Triad Community Band,  Triad Swing Band, New Horizons Gate City Jazz Ensemble and many more.

Featured are such traditional jazz classics as Bourbon Street Parade, Basin Street Blues, St. James Infirmary and, of course, When The Saints Come Marching In. You can’t sit still when the drums, bass, banjo, clarinet, trombone and trumpet all Come Marching In.
