Training is serious business at Walnut Hollow Farm. All training is done and supervised by Diane. All horses must meet specific criteria before advancing to the next level. It's much like growing up, you must learn to walk before you run.
Diane follows German Standards, using the scales of training in her progressive training system. The scale works in a chronological sequence and is interrelated; each stage of training is related to some degree. Training in a logical approach allows time to build confidence and develop both mentally and physically.
Diane assesses the horse's ability, talks with the owner, creates a plan, and gets to work. To make the transition easy and establish a bond between horse and rider, she will mentor the team and help them work toward their goals.
If you ever witness Diane at work, you will quickly notice the horses trust her leadership, and listen with simple voice commands.
