Song Description
Borrowed Time” is a song about the cowboy way of life that is slowly disappearing. The cowboy lifestyle, pasters, and farmlands across North America are slowly disappearing due to urban growth and development. For example, when I moved to Oshawa, Ontario in 2005, there were several cattle farms and the famous Windfield Farm that was only a five-minute walk from our home. Windfield Farms was formally home to Canada's leading thoroughbred stallions including Northern Dancer that won the Kentucky Derby in 1964, and the Preakness Stakes. My boys when they were young lads could feed the horses carrots through the fence. Today, these farms and ranches have largely disappeared and have been replaced by high-rises, multi-story condo’s, townhouses, shopping centers and graffiti that never exists in the country. Real horses have now been replaced with steel static statues that you see in the music video. This song is tribute to the cowboy legacy and lifestyle in North America and being wild and free.
