We are always in need of volunteers to help care for the dogs but also to help keep the shelter clean.

How old do you have to be to volunteer?

To volunteer by yourself you need to be 18 yrs or older. For families with kids 8-17 yrs old you will need to fill out a volunteer application for yourself and each child that will be helping out. We have several families where the parent volunteers and does all the work and the kids get to help out and play with the dogs.

What can I expect as a new volunteer?

New volunteers will have to work side by side with a current volunteer for 7 shifts. After doing 7 shifts if you are comfortable (and us too) you can start doing shifts on your own. We have 2 shifts- morning and evening.

What will I be doing at the shelter?

The main responsibilities is for caring for the dogs. Taking them outside to use the bathroom, play time, walking, cleaning kennels, feeding, medicating, picking up poop. These are some of the duties that are done daily.
