Registration closes July 31!
Once the group is selected and prior to our initial online group gathering, I will schedule a one-on-one with each participant. We will then meet for 5 sessions with the whole group.
At the close of our time, participants and I will schedule an additional one-on-one to debrief and consider ways you would like to move forward from here and if there are ways I can continue to help.
The registration fee to cover individual and group sessions for this 5-week journey is $600/person which includes a $50 non-refundable deposit made at the time of registration (remaining balance will be due Aug 10th). 10% of all registration fees will go to the families of the Uvalde shootings.
If you are interested in individual grief work I would be happy to walk with you as well. My standard fee for individual pastoral counseling is $125/hr, but we can discuss a sliding scale if needed.
If you have a pre-existing group that is interested in doing this grief work together, I would be glad to talk more about how to make that work. Contact me at thisness.org@gmail.com to discuss options.
Group sessions will be held weekly via Zoom on Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm CT beginning August 10th and ending on September 7th. There will be other opportunities to engage in the future if these dates do not work with your schedule. Follow @walkingpastor on Facebook and Instagram for announcements about future offerings.
Oftentimes losses seem either too small to name or so large a single name isn’t enough. Together we will give ourselves permission to name our grief and discover the power of letting it take up the time and space it needs.
Following a significant loss our lives will never be exactly the same again. The changes in us can make those who preferred the previous iteration of our lives uncomfortable. Together we will learn how to honor our continued becoming.
It is unrealistic to think we need to “get over” our grief. Our grief will remain a real part of our real lives. While we won’t get over it, we can learn how to live well alongside it.
Newborn grief is like any newborn and is incredibly needy and often keeps you up at night, but grief does grows up, and we can help nurture it through its infancy all the way to grown up grief.
I am strongly opposed to the belief that everything happens for a reason, however I do believe in a redemptive and redeeming God who can bring light out of deepest darkness.
Participants can pay their registration fee via Venmo or Paypal. If an alternative payment option is needed, please contact me at thisness.org@gmail.com to discuss.
