Sanders Day is a Walker Creek Holiday celebrated every September 15. It is a celebration of the birthday of John Sanders, the founder of Sanders Mine and Walker Creek County. The celebration changes depending on the year. In the past, there have been outdoor parties, free admission to the John Sanders museum, parades, Sanders Mine Historical Park parties, or major project unveilings by the Walker Creek Historical Society.
