In the early morning of February 3, 2021, digital interference began affecting the functionality of the Walker Creek Observatory and the surrounding area. Later in the afternoon, the power system, and subsequently our security system, went down. A virus was responsible for this, as determined by our later investigation. This virus was created and sent by the rebel known as "SANDERS". At 4:22pm, a large group of rebels began to storm the compound. They successfully took over the Observatory and continued to fight until 8:22pm. During this time, most rebels evacuated while the Tour Guide ordered all Hosted to defend the site immediately. In the end, 12 Hosted were killed, while 4 rebels were exterminated. We also captured one rebel: Thomas Abernathy.
The rebels also left a coded message for us, which when deciphered said: "An open letter to 'The Tour Guide': Hello Tour Guide. Yes, we know who you are. We haven't had a chance to speak face to face. That's likely for the best. With our most recent activity, your resolve must be stronger than ever. Is a taunt like this getting under your skin? I hope so. However, our reason for writing today is to thank you. Breaching the Observatory was far easier than we had planned. You gave us exactly what we wanted too - there was barely even a skirmish. You've always underestimated us and now we've gained more power than you could have imagined. You'll see soon enough. And guess what, 'Tour Guide'? We'll be coming for your head first. Then, we'll go after that servant of yours, Adam. Then, we'll go after Mayor Jones, The Speaker, and all of the other disgusting abominations like you. We're tired of being in the shadows. We will not let you crush us like you have to the past rebellions. We cannot be stopped.
Kind regards,
Nathaniel Topas."
During the Observatory attack, a flash drive owned by the rebel "SANDERS" was left behind. It was wiped before we could access it and only contained a simple message: "Communications completed. Information Deleted. You're too late, I already wiped it. I hope cracking this drive was worth it. - SANDERS"
