The Magnil Lumber Co. was founded by by Johnathan Magnil. The company specialized in lumber and began business in Walker Creek in 1901. They were responsible for immense economic growth in Walker Creek. They owned massive amounts of land throughout Walker Creek County and other neighboring counties. In 1976, the Magnil Lumber Co. went out of business with the death of the owner, Tom Magnil. The assets were sold to the Carter Company.
