Airlie Client Project

In Conclusion: Airlie Presentation

Working on this project has taught me so much about teamwork and visual literacy itself. This project forced the entire class not only to learn the visual literacy elements we were being taught, but also to apply them in real time.

Beginning our project with a trip out to Airlie really threw us all into the work demanded of us. I really began to care about the client presentation after we visited Airlie Berkshire Farm and saw the beauty that existed there. Although waking up before the sun had even risen was a struggle, I walked away from the experience with a newfound appreciation not only for the Airlie farm, but for nature itself.

Filming the Airlie at Your Table segment was definetly a struggle to say the least. While I intially helped create our intro and outro script, on the day of the shoot, I was busy with so many other side projects. Between helping Julia memorize her lines, cutting vegetables, and running around Anderson Hall to find a kitchen knife, I had a crash course of what it feels like to be on a film set, if not an incredibly rudimentary one. I'm incredibly proud of the work that Mo, Julia, David, Cruz, Alia, and I put in to create the video.

The final project for this class was giving a client presentation to people who work at Airlie Farms and American University. During our project, we discussed how both Airlie and AU could work together to merge their ideas for on campus events and mass emails. We presented new logo changes, email headers, merchandise, etc. As part of the social media team, I designed a Spotify account for Airlie to use and build up. I started with three playlists that could be used at different events. However, due to the Airlie Spotify account being linked to the Gmail we created, anyone at Airlie with access to the email can change and add to the account at any time.

In conclsuion, the work we collectively did for this class and this presentation will stick with me for a long time. The feeling of pride and relief that washed over me once we concluded the presentation is the proudest moment I have felt this entire semester academically. Working with this class and the Airlie staff was so rewarding, and I could not think of a better introduction to this field and line of work.
