PRESS RELEASE
Orange the World
The mission of every Malaysian.
Have you ever wondered why orange became the colour of courage for women and girls everywhere?
It began with a global call to say … Enough.
In 2008, the UNiTE to End Violence Against Women campaign was launched under the umbrella of the United Nations — a movement created to give strength, voice, and visibility to the millions of women and girls who silently carry stories of fear, pain, resilience, and hope.
Why orange?
Orange is the official colour of the UN “Orange the World” campaign.
It symbolises:
🟧 Hope
🟧 A future free from violence
Violence leaves lasting wounds - visible and hidden. No woman should be left to face that darkness on her own.
Inner Wheel stands unwavering. Every woman has the right to safety, dignity, and a voice that will be heard. We take action, we offer support, and we speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.
You are not alone.
You are seen.
You are heard.
You are supported.
Orange was chosen to symbolise hope, healing, safety, and a future free from violence — a colour strong enough to cut through silence, stigma, and shame.
When we wear orange — whether as a T-shirt, a cap, a ribbon, a badge, or even an orange heart shared online — we make a visual promise:
🧡 “I choose compassion over indifference.”
🧡 “I stand for dignity, safety, and freedom.”
🧡 “I believe every woman and girl deserves to live without fear.”
From 25 November to 10 December, during the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the world unites in orange — to remember, to honour, to speak up, and to declare that violence has no place in a world that values human rights.
🧡 Today’s Invitation:
Wear orange. Share orange. Show orange.
Add an orange emoji to your profile, wear a touch of orange clothing, or post a message of solidarity:
Let your colour ORANGE be your stand. Let your orange say:
“For every woman who deserves a world where she is seen, safe, and free.”
We rise. We heal. We hope. 🧡
