1.0 How we visualize your activity data
Walk & Water analyzes your Android device's built-in pedometer data to generate our visual graphs and to calculate your daily burned calories. In no case is your personal data ever transferred to a third party. It is exclusively stored on your device within the application container of Walk & Water.
1.1 Challenges
If you opt in to participate in one of our challenges, you agree that your anonymous activity data is securely uploaded to our servers. Note that you can opt out of this at any point by disagreeing with the respective terms of service in the app's settings. Further you can always contact us if you want all of your anonymous data to be removed from our servers completely.
We use analytics services as described in Sections 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 of this Privacy Policy that help us understand how Walk & Water is being used. The processing of your personal data takes place in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). We do not share any personal data.
Usage Information
We collect information about your activity on our services, for instance how you use them (such as frequency, duration of usage, app crashes, features you've been using, advertising that you click on).
Device information
We collect information from and about the device(s) you use to access our services, including:
hardware and software information such as IP address, device ID and type, device-specific and apps settings and characteristics, app crashes, app version, app name, type of user (pro/free), advertising IDs (such as Google's AdvertisingID, which is randomly generated number that you can reset by going into your device's settings), browser type, version and language, operating system, time zones, identifiers associated with cookies or other technologies that may uniquely identify your device or browser (e.g., IMEI/UDID and MAC address).

App Permissions (Necessary)
Physical Activity Access: In order to provide you with accurate step tracking and record your physical activity data, we require permission to access your device's physical activity data. This allows us to monitor your steps, distance traveled, and other relevant fitness metrics to help you track your progress and achieve your fitness goals.
Local Media Access Permission: In order to store your step data securely, we need permission to access your device's local media storage. Rest assured that we will never modify or delete any content within your local media storage. This permission ensures that your step data is stored locally on your device for easy retrieval and analysis.
App Permissions (Optional)
location Information Access: In order to track and count steps precisely, we may request permission to access your device's location. This enables us to accurately track your movements and provide you with location-based statistics related to your physical activity. You have the option to grant or deny this permission, and you can disable it at any time within the Application settings.
Notification Permission: If you wish to conveniently track your daily steps and calories, as well as setting exercise reminders, you need to enable notification permission.

2.2 E-Mail & Support
The only situation we may get access to your personal identifiable information (PII) is when you personally decide to email us your feedback or to provide us with a bug report. The PII we may get from you in that situation are strictly limited to your name, email address and the contents of your response only. In above situation, we guarantee that your PII will only be used for contacting you and improving our services. We will never use such information (e.g. your name and email address) for any other purposes, such as to further market our products, or to disclose your personal information to a third party for commercial gains.
2.3 Ads
Walk & Water displays ads within our app through some third party ad networks(Such as admob, meta, applovin, etc.). These ads are served by these third-party ad networks. Personalized ads are by default disabled for residents of the European Union, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
2.4 Meta and Google Ads
For some of our products, we compare limited user data with Meta Ads and Google Ads users who click on our ads on in that platform. We do this in order to measure how successful our app install campaigns are on that platform. As described in Sections 2.0 of this Privacy Policy, we sometimes work with third parties to deliver ads or offers. Sometimes we or these third parties do so through a mobile "SDK." The SDK is a bit of computer code that app developers can include in their apps to enable data to be collected and ads to be shown. We may use this and similar technology to deliver certain advertising through mobile applications and browsers based on data associated with your mobile device, and we may work with third parties who likewise embed their SDKs into our services, for third party advertising. If you'd like to opt-out from having ads tailored to you in this way on your mobile device, please follow the instructions below.
If you wish to opt out of interest-based cross-application tracking through your mobile device, you can do so through your device "settings", as follows (but please note that the below is for informational purposes only and Apple, Google, or other device platforms may change the manner in which their "opt out" settings work at any time): Please note that if you opt out through these settings, you will continue to receive advertising after you opt-out, but it may not be tailored to your interests. For instance, that advertising may be based on your real-time or "contextual" application usage or general location inferred from IP address.
3.1 Opting out on Android Devices
If you have an Android device and would like to opt out of mobile interest-based or "cross-app" advertising, you may do this as follows: Open the Settings app on your device -> Go to “Google” -> Select Ads -> Opt out of interest-based ads.
Our services are intended for general audiences over the age of 13 years old (or over the age of 16 if you are resident in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 years old, or 16 years old in the EEA. If you are not over 13 years old (or 16 years old in the EEA) then DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR USE THE SERVICES.
Right to Be Informed
When collecting your personal information, you have the right to know our identity, the purposes and methods of processing your personal information, and how to exercise and protect your rights.
Right of Access
You have the right to request confirmation of whether we are processing your personal data and to access personal data and related information (e.g., categories of personal data processed).
Right to Rectification
If your personal data is inaccurate, you have the right to request rectification and to complete any incomplete personal data, as permitted by law.
Right to Erasure
You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data, where permitted by law. This right can be exercised, among other circumstances, when your personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or processed unlawfully.
Right to Restriction of Processing
You have the right to request the restriction of our processing in certain limited circumstances, including when the accuracy of your personal data is contested or when the processing is unlawful, and you oppose the erasure of your personal data.
Right to Data Portability
You have the right to receive the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and you have the right to transmit this information to another data controller, where technically feasible and legally permitted.
Right to Object
You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, where permitted by law. This right is limited to processing based on legitimate interests. Subsequently, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. Additionally, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data for direct marketing purposes.

You have the right to request confirmation of whether we are processing your personal data and where permitted by law, access to that personal data. This may include the personal data categories we collect, use, or disclose about you.
Right to Deletion
Within the limits allowed by law, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data.
Right to Opt-Out of "Selling" and Certain Sharing Practices
You have the right to opt out of sharing certain data with third parties who may only use your personal data for their own purposes. Your right to opt-out applies only to information we "sell" to these third parties. In this context, "selling" does not mean exchanging data for money—we do not engage in such practices. "Selling" refers to the disclosure of data when a third party may use it for their own purposes, such as personalized advertising, including non-identifiable technical device data. We do not actually sell the personal information of individuals under 16 years old.
Right to Non-Discrimination
We strongly oppose discrimination of any kind, including but not limited to discrimination based on race, color, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, or any other protected characteristic under the law. If you encounter any instances of discrimination, you have the right to request appropriate corrective measures from us, including but not limited to investigation, correction, deletion of relevant information, or other reasonable corrective actions. We are committed to ensuring a fair, equal, and inclusive service environment to promote positive experiences and engagement for all users.
