We arrived at Llwyngwril and struggled to park the car at the main car park, luckily there were a few spaces left at the smaller parking area at the railway station, so we parked up and caught the train back into Barmouth. Arriving at around 10am, we headed back to the dolphin statue to continue our walk from where we had finished in the last part. We first grabbed an ice cream before leaving Barmouth. We firstly headed across the Mawddach Estuary and into Fairbourne, retracing the steps of our very first coast path walk. (Before we began in Chester, we walked and did a video walking from Barmouth to Fairbourne, see videos below), stopping for a pint in Fairbourne before we had a big hill climb, then we continued along the seafront and after leaving Fairbourne, a short walk along the main road and then the climb began. This was steep in parts over the hills towards Llwyngwril, we slowly made our way up, taking in the views along the way of the estuary and Llyn Peninsula, we could see the coastline of a few of our previous walks. Eventually when lead out onto a small single track lane, we turn right and after a slight incline the road starts heading downwards, its a nice gradual downhill walk into Llwyngwril. We finished on the bridge over the Afon Gwril, where we will pick upthe walk again in part 45. We made the short walk to the car after using the local shop on the bridge for some much needed refreshments.
Below is the first Wales Coast Path video we filmed. Just before deciding to try and walk the entire thing, we did a walk from Barmouth to Fairbourne.
