Car Parks at Menai Bridge, Caernarfon
We set off early and arrived at Caernarfon at around 8.00am. Parking next to the castle on a long stay car park. We had a short walk through the town and caught the 5C bus to Goleufryn bus stop, where we cross the road and waited a few minutes for the 63 bus to Carmel, getting off at The Menai Bridge. The second bus did not run very often so it's advisable to get off the 5c somewhere nearby and walk to Menai Bridge or continue to Bangor and then catch a bus that heads to the Menai Bridge.
We then began our walk which was quite straightforward. Firstly crossing back over the Menai Bridge to mainland Wales and heading off picking up a gravel trail which runs near the Menai Strait for a while, occasionally heading away slightly. We headed to Y Felinheli which was a beautiful little place. Once through the village the second half of our walk mainly follows an old railway trail now walking and cycle route, with occasional views of the Menai Strait. Caernarfon is a beautiful town and this was my first visit.
