CAR PARKING:

Holyhead has many car parks. Trearddur Bay car parks

We set off early and arrived at Trearddur Bay at around 8.15am, parked the car and had a quick look around before catching the number 4 bus into Holyhead and picking up the coast path once again. It was a hot day and there were a few hilly bits to tackle on the first part of the walk. We made our way around the harbour and then onto Breakwater Country Park before heading up towards Holyhead Mountain. I was not sure how the path was going to be across this section, there were a few hilly parts but we did not climb to the summit, more crept around the outskirts. Still climbing quite high though, which felt harder in the heat. The second half of the walk from South Stack lighthouse to Trearddur Bay was more flat than the first half with just a few small gradients here and there. It was also scenic following the rocky coastline, some breathtaking views to be seen on this section of the coast path. This section took us the longest to complete so far, due to it being a hot day, we took plenty of rest breaks and drank the most water on any of our walks.

Starting at St Cybi’s Church grounds ///deflect.warnings.paramedic where there is a plaque marking the official start/end point of the Anglesey Coast Path.
