The tradition of the Waldwick High School Graduation Ball was started in 1966. A group of senior parents came together to create one final high school memory to give as a gift to their graduating seniors. It was such a success, that every year since, there has been a Grad Ball! Each year, the senior parents gather to select a committee to help run the celebration. They raise funds, vote on a theme that is kept secret from the graduates, and work tirelessly to bring that theme to life. This tradition has since evolved into creating a fun, alcohol-free and drug-free alternative to teenage parties, both on campus and at off-site venues. This safe and positive rite-of-passage is an all-expense-paid event in which EVERY graduating senior at Waldwick High School has been invited to - for the past 60 years! All student expenses are covered by direct donations from parents, the local community and businesses, as well as through parent-run fundraisers throughout the year. This Graduation Ball celebration gives our graduates one final evening together as a class, and we wouldn't be able to do it without everyone's support over the past SIX DECADES, so we thank everyone that has ever been involved in helping this tradition to continue!!
Thank you to Mary Beth Nappi for compiling all of the theme information, as well as the proud alumni on Facebook for the pictures!!
