Reflection, Dialogue, and Epistemic Virtues: An Interpersonal Perspective on Reflection (CNPq - 2020/2023)
This project is a new chapter in a research program that I have been conducting over the last few years about the place and value of reflection in contemporary philosophy, especially in epistemology. With this project, I present a Dialectical Perspective on Reflection. According to this perspective, reflection is an intentional intellectual performance through which a person becomes critically aware of the content of beliefs in an epistemic disagreement. This is a conversational scenario that involves both one's own beliefs and the beliefs of the interlocutor. From this point, the person can form reasons to affirm, deny, or suspend judgment.
