  1.  Symbolism- The wounds and scars of the characters, particularly Tenyong, symbolize the sacrifices made for love and country. The title "Walang Sugat" (No Wound) itself symbolizes the resilience and sacrifice of the revolutionary fighters.

  1. Irony- The love story of Tenyong and Julia, while Tenyong leaves for the revolution. It is ironic that by that time the audience expects a tragic ending in time of the wedding of Julia and Miguel and the sudden approach of Tenyong who is "dying" but turns out to be as strong and alive as a lion. Walang Sugat.

  1. Foreshadowing- The moment that Tenyong leaves for revolution, it symbolizes the possibilities of the struggles that he would face.

  1. Pathetic Fallacy- The play mirrors the political power of spaniards back then and how they can easilly influence people.
