Awhile back I was looking through my journal, and found that a bunch of recent comments were of the \u201CBad Activation\u201D variety. I was letting my Shinobi get revealed, which would often lead to big trouble. It might mean I lost my opportunity to ambush, but when already in a firefight it could mean activating additional pods. I made some changes to how I approach the game. I slowed things down a bit. I don\u2019t race my Shinobi so far forward, and I don\u2019t race the decision about where to put him. Also I always take Covert. This ability gives my scouting Shinobi much more leeway, and thus prevents many bad situations from getting truly ugly.

Set immediately after the Japanese Sengoku period, Iga and Kouga, two mercenary clans have been waging a vendetta against each other over hundreds of years. Around 1614, Tokugawa Ieyasu, the ruler of Japan and the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate, perceives the threat posed by the two clans. Attempting to consolidate his reign, he deliberately stirs up their feud by inviting the clans to choose their five best warriors to fight to the death. Designated as the leaders of the two clans respectively, Kouga Gennosuke (Joe Odagiri) and Oboro (Yukie Nakama), who have secretly married, are unwillingly embroiled in the political plot. Hence, they have to make a difficult decision.

After sleeping on it for a couple nights, I decide to say screw it. This is my personal website and it should ultimately reflect who I am and what I prefer. Ittoki gathers the Iga ninja and tells them that he decided to give the secret Ninja Core to Kido in exchange for Iga's autonomy. The Iga are against it and don't believe that Koga will keep their word. However, Ittoki states he won't be changing his decision and Tokisada states he is on his side. Ittoki states that if Koga attacks them will all their might, they won't be able to withstand it. That's why the Iga suggest they attack Koga now, while their forces are scattered. Ittoki still refuses and states that if they don't agree with his decision, he will expel them from the village.
