So I've been trying to figure this out, but I just can't. I know in one of the first patches they released after the game came out had fixes for audio. But I can't remember if any of those where supposed to be the big major fix? Or just tweaks? I've tried quite a few things but I really don't know what else I can do to get the audio synced up properly. Or is there a patch coming that will do it?

Good morning

I purchased Alan Wake 2 for PC today on the Epic store (updated to the current and latest version, 1.08) but I am encountering numerous problems, both audio and video and I don't know how to resolve them

Often in the videos there is no audio and when there is it doesn't work well, but the real problem is in the gameplay, as in the photo, the graphic quality is embarrassing, it seems that the textures don't load

When I wakeup the system in the UI it works fine. The audio is sent to the base, and I get back the correct intent.

However, it does not matter which WakeUp Service I am selecting, none of them work. If i take a look @ htop then it seems like none of the services are even running.

I just tried to copy your satellite and base config. But no change.

However, in your case, the satellite is constantly sending all the audio to your base which then analyzes for the wake word and does the rest correct?

When it goes to sleep, sound working, when it wakes from sleep the sound doesn't work. So I go into gnome settings > sound and the output device has been reset to 'dummy output'. Instead of HDMI output [nvidia card driver 430.50].

Where "user-name" is the name of your user account. In my case commands wouldn't run under the system account. Additionally, killing pulseaudio would mess with pulseeffects, so it needed to be killed before pulseaudio and restarted after it autostarts. If you don't need pulseeffects, just delete the two lines from the code above.

I'm guessing that there has been a change in the wake sequence such that, now, this runs before all the sound sinks are restored. Consequently, it decides all the 'dead' sinks need to be "rescued" to a new default/dummy sink. They all subsequently wake up, but they've already been rerouted to the dummy.

I found one hint in that to launch app in background - "For audio apps, the audio framework needs the app to process some data. (Audio apps include those that play audio or use the microphone.)" but i didn't find any technical assistance on that.

Regarding Alarmy app I found 2 or 3 questions here and all of them saying that they are playing silent sound with AVAudioSession category playback.I did try that but it's not helping me to awake app when local notification comes.

Mark Yeend: I first met the Remedy guys in June of 2009, at the point when the project was turning a corner from a very long incubation to serious production. It was time to execute on the promise. Remedy had already done some audio work before I came on board, of course; especially making some very cool trailers and demos, developing the original score with composer Petri Alanko and developing the characters with voice director Navid Khonsari. It was great to work with Remedy because they knew what they wanted; they had established their creative vision for the game, they just needed my help filling in the details at a high level of quality. Remedy and MGS both work with great passion, so naturally we had some heated debates. But everyone is also very professional and we were all working toward the same end-goal, so there was a bedrock of trust under every argument.

Mark Yeend: Pete Comley is the most dedicated and fanatical audio collector and expeditioner I know. He really put his heart in to field recording for Wake, just like I knew he would.

Michael Schwendler: To be honest, when I came into the project the sound team and Petri (the composer) worked apart from each other. But Petri played the game very frequently to keep track with the improvements we made on the audio (SFX) side. Also the Art director gave a lot of direction and feedback (also from the sound department) to Petri. Later on in the project Remedy hired a sound designer only for the implementation of the music (Nicklas Renqvist). As Petri had been working on this title for a long time, we had a lot of music to choose from. A great challenge was to create ambiences that stand out against the musical background tracks. Petri used a lot of synthetic sounds and processed soundscapes which almost sound like an ambient track. In some places we had to decide if we want to create the mood by music or by ambient sound design tracks.

Governor Cuomo: "This country has to wake up... You have two very different situations happening in states across this country. Some states, the numbers are going down. Some states, the numbers are going up. Why? Same country, same virus. Why? The federal government's attitude is an undeniable mistake when it has come to dealing with COVID. Their guidance, their doctrine, is an undeniable mistake. It is a political theory, a public relations theory, versus a science-based, fact-based theory. The White House from day one has been operating on a pure political ideology. 'We should reopen, get the economy going. Government shouldn't be slowing down the economy.' It was all political. It was all public relations. Based on what fact? Based on what science? None."

Cuomo: "The question is what do you say America when they tell you 30,000 more people are going to die because of what you're doing? Do you keep doing it? Do you keep doing it or do you say 'I don't want 30,000 more people to die. I'm going to change what we do.' That's why I say, wake up America. Look at what they're telling you."

Earlier today at his daily press briefing, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo called on Americans to wake up to the danger posed by the White House response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to look towards New York for leadership based on science and facts.

That's why I say, wake up America. Look at what they're telling you. These are not rhetorical, conceptual, or hyperbolic. They told you based on what you're doing last week 30,000 more people are going to die. This is New York- I want someone to put this up in my eulogy. PowerPoint eulogy. Make a note, you're going to be there. That'd be the first time Rob smiles. I think these were the projections in New York. Gates-funded IHME said 73,000 people would be hospitalized; Columbia said 136,000 people just in New York City- this is Columbia University, right, we're not talking about a mail away matchbook University here. McKinsey 110,000; McKinsey-moderate with mitigation: 55,000. What actually happened? 18,000. They were all wrong?

The latest patches don't address the main audio issues players have encountered, however, especially on Xbox, but Remedy said in a X/Twitter post it is "aware of the audio cutting off on Xbox and are looking into it".

Design:  Whole-night breathing sounds (using ambient microphone) and polysomnography (PSG) were simultaneously collected at a sleep laboratory (mean recording time 7.1 hours). A set of acoustic features quantifying breathing pattern were developed to distinguish between sleep and wake epochs (30 sec segments). Epochs (n = 59,108 design study and n = 68,560 validation study) were classified using AdaBoost classifier and validated epoch-by-epoch for sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values, accuracy, and Cohen's kappa. Sleep quality parameters were calculated based on the sleep/wake classifications and compared with PSG for validity.

Measurements and results:  Epoch-by-epoch accuracy rate for the validation study was 83.3% with sensitivity of 92.2% (sleep as sleep), specificity of 56.6% (awake as awake), and Cohen's kappa of 0.508. Comparing sleep quality parameters of BSA and PSG demonstrate average error of sleep latency, total sleep time, wake after sleep onset, and sleep efficiency of 16.6 min, 35.8 min, and 29.6 min, and 8%, respectively.

Conclusions:  This study provides evidence that sleep-wake activity and sleep quality parameters can be reliably estimated solely using breathing sound analysis. This study highlights the potential of this innovative approach to measure sleep in research and clinical circumstances.

Got this old audio amplifier from my step parents to help boost the sound of the TV. The problem of it is that it doesn't have a remote, and it defaults to sleep mode when plugged. I would like it to turn on and off with the TV, which would help me not getting up of the sofa 8)

It is plugged in through a (TV)jackRCA(Amp) and the power switch is a simple momentary switch :

The audio jack, after the installation of Arch or other distros, gives a hissing sound to the headphones. To fix it, I use the following configuration for alsa and did a jack retask. The audio jack, then, normally works just fine and the sound is OK.
