If you want a wired, retro-styled solution that delivers balanced audio for long listening sessions and calls without battery anxiety, choose WaigN Black Retro Over-Ear; if you need wireless freedom, an open-ear design that accommodates glasses and small ears while adding a touch of jewelry to your outfit, choose Domary Earbuds Headphones Open.
• WaigN Black Retro Over-Ear: Its greatest strength is the classic, lightweight over-ear design with Hi-Fi stereo sound and passive noise cancellation, but its biggest trade-off is the corded connection which limits movement. This pick is for commuters and home users who prioritize style and consistent audio quality over wireless convenience.
• Domary Earbuds Headphones Open: Its standout feature is the unique detachable earring design combined with a pressure-free open-ear fit perfect for all-day wear, yet it trades off the deep bass isolation found in sealed earbuds. This pick is ideal for active individuals, glasses wearers, and those seeking a fashionable accessory that doubles as functional audio gear.
The WaigN Black Retro Over-Ear headphones are built for the person who appreciates a specific aesthetic and wants a reliable, no-fuss audio experience. The design leans heavily into a vintage theme, offering a sleek black finish that feels timeless rather than trendy. What stands out immediately is the weight; at just 9.07 grams, these headphones are incredibly light, which suggests they won't weigh down your head even after hours of use. The construction uses a combination of metal and plastic, providing a durable frame that doesn't feel flimsy despite the low mass.
For anyone looking for head phones for calls or general media consumption, the audio profile here is tuned for clarity. The dynamic driver system supports a frequency range from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, ensuring that vocals remain crisp and instruments stay distinct. With a sensitivity of 105 dB and a standard impedance of 32 ohms, these headphones pair easily with most mobile phones and playback devices without needing a dedicated amplifier. The inclusion of passive noise cancellation through the over-ear cushioning helps block out some ambient chatter, making them a solid choice for office work or quiet travel where you don't want to deal with electronic interference.
However, this product is not for everyone. The defining characteristic of this headset is its wired connectivity via a 3.5-millimeter jack. If you are someone who constantly moves around your house, works out, or hates managing tangled cords, these will feel restrictive. The inline push-button controls offer basic functionality, but the tether means you are physically anchored to your device. Furthermore, while the over-ear design is comfortable, the oval earpiece shape might not seal perfectly for every ear size, though the adjustable headband attempts to mitigate fit issues. You should skip this option if you require true wireless freedom or need active noise cancellation features that rely on batteries and microphones. Instead, buy this if you want a stylish, plug-and-play companion that sounds great and looks like a piece of classic hardware.

The Domary Earbuds Headphones Open cater to a very specific demographic: people who find traditional earbuds uncomfortable or isolating. These aren't just audio devices; they are presented as fashion accessories first. The most striking aspect of the design is the inclusion of detachable earrings, transforming the earbuds into a wearable ornament. This unique blend of utility and style makes them particularly appealing for those who want their tech to complement their outfit rather than hide it away. They come in a Rose Gold finish, adding a polished look that appeals to users who value aesthetics alongside performance.
Comfort is the primary selling point for the Domary model, specifically engineered for those with small ears, long hair, or who wear glasses. Traditional in-ear buds often cause pain or fall out when wearing frames, but these rest gently on the outer ear without blocking the canal. Each bud weighs only 4.5 grams, which is exceptionally light, ensuring there is no pressure fatigue during extended wear. The open-ear design allows sound to feel airy and natural, avoiding the "plugged-up" sensation common with silicone tips. This makes them excellent for situations where you need to hear your surroundings, such as walking outside or working in a busy environment, while still enjoying podcasts or music.
Regarding performance, these wireless earbuds utilize a 200mAh lithium-ion battery, promising between 4 to 8 hours of continuous playback on a single charge. The Bluetooth transmission range extends up to 10 meters (33 feet), providing stable connectivity for typical daily activities. The build quality relies on durable ABS and silicone materials, making them suitable for sports and workouts. However, the open design means they do not isolate noise, so if you are on a loud subway or trying to focus in a noisy café, the audio might get lost in the background. Additionally, because they lack a seal, the bass response will naturally be less punchy than closed-back alternatives. This product is perfect for the user who wants a secure fit that never hurts, offers wireless mobility, and acts as a statement piece, provided they are okay with the trade-off of reduced noise isolation.
• Best for Calls in Quiet Environments → WaigN Black Retro Over-Ear, thanks to the over-ear seal and passive noise reduction which helps filter out background noise better than the open design.
• Best for Active Lifestyles → Domary Earbuds Headphones Open, as the lightweight, secure fit handles movement and sweat better than the static nature of a wired headset.
• Best for Glasses Wearers → Domary Earbuds Headphones Open, specifically designed to avoid the pinching and slipping that occurs with traditional over-ear or in-ear models.
• Best for Battery-Free Reliability → WaigN Black Retro Over-Ear, since the wired connection means you never have to worry about charging or finding a power source mid-use.
• Best for Fashion and Style → Domary Earbuds Headphones Open, due to the innovative detachable earring feature that turns tech into jewelry.
• Best for Deep Immersion → WaigN Black Retro Over-Ear, offering a more isolated, Hi-Fi stereo experience compared to the airy, open soundstage of the Domary buds.
• Best for Small Ears → Domary Earbuds Headphones Open, explicitly engineered with a 4.5g weight and ergonomic curve to fit smaller anatomies securely.
• Best Value for Long Sessions → WaigN Black Retro Over-Ear, as the comfort of the over-ear cup combined with zero battery dependency makes it ideal for marathon listening or work shifts.
After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally choose the WaigN Black Retro Over-Ear for general daily use and specifically for calls where clarity matters. While the Domary earbuds offer a fascinating and fashionable twist with their detachable earrings, the open-ear design simply cannot compete with the audio fidelity and noise isolation provided by the over-ear cups when you are trying to focus on a conversation or enjoy music. The wired connection of the WaigN model eliminates the anxiety of charging and ensures consistent, high-quality sound delivery every time you plug in. For anyone prioritizing a genuine listening experience and a classic aesthetic that doesn't compromise on comfort, this is the superior choice.
Both options can handle gaming audio, but the WaigN Black Retro Over-Ear is likely better for competitive play due to its passive noise cancellation and directional sound staging, whereas the open Domary earbuds might let in too much ambient noise.
Yes, the Domary Earbuds Headphones Open are designed with a secure fit for small ears and are made of flexible materials, making them suitable for sports and workouts without slipping.
The Domary earbuds offer 4 to 8 hours of playback per charge using their internal 200mAh battery, while the WaigN headphones have no battery limitation as they are powered directly through the wired 3.5mm connection.
Both connect via standard methods (Bluetooth for Domary, 3.5mm for WaigN) and support voice calls, though the over-ear design of the WaigN may provide slightly better microphone isolation depending on the inline control placement.
