Mount Abbot / Bear Creek Spire
Ascents of Mount Abbot (Northeast Couloir, class 3) and Bear Creek Spire (Northeast Ridge, III 5.5.), with Robert Zeithammer, June 18-19, 2013
Timeline:
June 17, 2013. We left Mosquito Flat at 15:10, and were in camp at Treasure Lakes at 18:00.
June 18, 2013. We left camp at 8:20, reached the summit of Mount Abbot at 12:20, left the summit at 12:55, were back at the base of the couloir at 13:39 pm, and back in camp at 15:20. (A 7:00 hour day).
June 19, 2013. We left camp at 8:04, reached the summit of Bear Creek Spire at 14:00, had rappelled off to the Northwest gully at 14:45, and were back in camp at 18:02. (A 9:58 hour day).
June 20, 2013. We left camp at 8:39 and were back at the car at 10:10. We had breakfast at the Rock Creek Resort and went rock climbing at Iris Slab, where we toproped Concrete Jungle (5.7), Exodus (5.10a) and Easy Skankin' (5.5), before driving home to LA.
