Timeline:

September 13, 2010. Rock climbing in the Alabama Hills after a night spent at Lone Pine campground. Evening and night at the Onion Valley campground.

September 14, 2010. Approach hike via Shepherd Pass trail. We departed Shepherd Pass trailhead at 9:15 am, arrived at Mahogany Flat at 12:50 (where we had lunch), left the Pothole at 15:30 and were in camp near Shepherd Pass at 16:55 (a 7:40 day).

September 15, 2010. We departed camp at Shepherd Pass at 7:42, reached the summit of Mount Tyndall at 9:27 via the North Rib (class 3), stayed on the summit for 30 minutes, descended by the Northwest ridge/slopes and were back in camp at 11:37 (a 3:55 hour ascent). After lunch we hiked to a nearby stream for cleanup, then spent a leisurely afternoon (including a nap) in camp from 15:00 on.

September 16, 2010. We departed camp at Shepherd Pass at 6:46, reached the summit of Mount Williamson via the West Face (class 3) at 11:20, spent 40 minutes on the summit and were back in camp at 15:46 (a 9:00 hour ascent). We packed up camp and left Shepherd Pass at 16:30, and were in camp at Anvil Camp at 17:50.

September 17, 2010. We departed Anvil Camp at 8:33 and were at the trailhead at 12:20. We took the long way back, driving South on Foothill Road past Shepherd Creek, Bairs Creek and George Creek (we drove to the trailhead for the latter) before returning to Hwy 395 by crossing Manzanar National Historic Site. After lunch in Lone Pine we drove back, stopping at lengths at Fossil Falls.
