Dr. Manoj Kumar Jena is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, since February 2025. Prior to this, he served as a postdoctoral research fellow at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Japan (November 2024 – January 2025), and at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia (October 2022 – September 2024), where he was also affiliated with the ARC-funded Training and Research Centre for the Transformation of Australia’s Biosolids Resources. He obtained his Ph.D. from Curtin University, Australia, in association with the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad (September 2022), focusing on kinetic compensation effects and parameters during gasification of low-rank coal char. He completed his B.Tech from Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang, Odisha, and M.Tech from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. He received the IIChE Ambuja Young Researcher’s Award in 2017 and has four years of industrial experience at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India. Dr. Jena has published extensively as first, corresponding, and co-author, presented at national and international forums, and authored the book Gasification Technology: Transforming Waste into Clean Energy (Springer Nature, 2024).
