Some of the nicest coffee shops we've ever had the pleasure of visiting are in Waco, Texas, though we've been to coffee shops all around the country. The fact that every cafe provides a unique experience is what distinguishes the greatest coffee shops in Waco from one another. The Waco coffee shops we've been to are all establishments where various people with various backgrounds and extremely different visions are founded. And every coffee shop has a different story to tell.
1. MAGNOLIA PRESS COFFEE CO.
If you've ever heard of the "Gaines" family, you already know that Chip & Joanna Gaines built a coffee shop named "Magnolia Press Coffee Co." in the heart of Waco. The beverages are excellent. However, it's not just the beverages; it's also the desserts! When you've had your fill of coffee and treats, simply exit via the back door to find yourself in the heart of Chip & Joanna's neighborhood hangout, Magnolia at The Silos. If it's been a while since your last visit, you might be startled by how much has changed there in the last few years.
2. Z’S BREW COFFEE & CREPES
In addition to being one of the best coffee shops in Waco, one of the newest is also one of the best. A few years ago, Zs Brew Coffee & Crepes started on the first floor of a historic structure on Washington Ave. If you don't know what you're looking for, it's easy to overlook because it's kind of a hidden, hole-in-the-wall type of location. The rooftop patio that overlooks the downtown area is one of my favorite features of this neighborhood coffee shop. It's a great place with an amazing view to grab some delectable coffee, wine, or beer and unwind.
3. FABLED BOOKSHOP & CAFE
The Fabled Bookshop & Cafe is a remarkably distinctive coffee shop that was skillfully created and planned to tell a tale as well as offer a cozy spot to work, unwind, or get lost in a book. Depending on the day of the week you visit this Waco coffee shop, you might see people working quietly on laptops while sipping coffee, business partners discussing their upcoming big project, people reading peacefully in the lounge section, or kids playing together in the room with a children's theme. Pick up a good book, get a hot or iced coffee, and if you're looking for a fast, nutritious snack, there's also a small fridge stocked with salads and sandwiches.
4. DICHOTOMY COFFEE & SPIRITS
Dichotomy Coffee & Spirits is the only coffee shop in Waco that provides a rooftop lounge space. You can order an iced or cold coffee, ascend the stairs to the top of the building, and take in the view of parts of Waco, including the historic city building across the street while sipping your beverage. Last but not least, have you ever needed coffee late at night but discovered that all of your preferred coffee shops were closed? Dichotomy does not operate in this way. One of the few coffee shops in Waco that is open till late at night is this one.
