Founded in 1960, Walton Art Club was established to bring people together through a shared enjoyment of art in a friendly and sociable atmosphere. More than sixty years later, that same spirit remains at the heart of everything we do.
We meet every Thursday evening and warmly welcome artists of all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced painters and illustrators. Whether you enjoy working in oils, acrylics, watercolours, pen and ink, or pencil, you'll find a supportive and encouraging environment at Walton Art Club.
Our members work across a wide variety of styles and mediums, creating a vibrant and inspiring community where ideas, techniques, and creative experiences are freely shared. There is always someone willing to offer advice, guidance, or encouragement, making the club an ideal place to develop your skills and confidence.
At Walton Art Club, our aim is simple: to help people enjoy art in a relaxed, friendly, and welcoming setting. We believe that creativity flourishes when people feel comfortable, supported, and inspired.
The club holds two major exhibitions each year at the Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre Gallery in Walton-on-Thames, with Spring and Autumn exhibitions showcasing the diverse talents of our members. In addition, we organise pop-up exhibitions at other local venues throughout the year.
These popular events provide members with the opportunity to exhibit their work to the public, celebrate their artistic achievements, and, if they wish, sell their paintings and artwork. The exhibitions have become an important part of the club's calendar and are enjoyed by both artists and visitors alike.
Whether you're looking to learn, improve your skills, meet like-minded people, or simply enjoy creating art, Walton Art Club offers a warm welcome and an inspiring place to explore your creativity.
