The Application requires you to register and log in to use its core features. When you register, the Application uses a secure third-party service (Firebase Authentication) to handle your credentials.
When you use the Application, you provide the following:
Email Address and User ID: If you register using email, we receive your email address. If you register using Google, we receive the name and email address associated with your Google account. This information is primarily managed by Firebase. We use the email/User ID to securely identify you and link your bonsai data to your account.
Bonsai Metadata: Information you input about your bonsai, including references to your photos (not the photos themselves) and text comments or logs about each plant.
B. Automatically Collected Information
The Application collects certain information automatically to function, including: the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device's unique identifier, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, and data about application usage (like crash reports and performance).
We use this information to:
Operate and maintain the functionality of the Application.
Analyze app usage for improvements, performance, and bug fixes.
Your privacy is paramount, especially regarding your sensitive photo data:
Photo Storage: The pictures of your bonsais are stored only on your mobile device and are not uploaded to our servers. We only store references (like file paths or names) to these local photos.
Google Drive Sync: You have the option to back up and sync your photos via your personal Google Drive account. This is a direct connection between your device and your Google Drive, and we do not have access to your Google Drive contents.
The Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.
Yes. We only share information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.
The Application utilizes secure, industry-standard third-party services that may process information used to identify you:
Google Play Services: Used for basic device functionality.
Google Firebase Authentication: Manages your registration and login securely. We do not store your password.
Google Firebase Firestore: Used to securely store the bonsai metadata (references to photos and comments).
Google Drive Integration: Used only upon your explicit request to facilitate backup of your photos to your own Google Drive.
These third parties are bound by their own privacy policies to handle the information securely.
We will retain the User Provided Data (email, User ID, and bonsai metadata) for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you would like us to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please contact us at wabisabibonsaiapp@gmail.com and we will respond in a reasonable time. Or delete the account using App Settings
We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We use Firebase's security features and industry-standard practices to protect the information we process and maintain.
