License testing
WAWA will be testing after the September 14th meeting. All test candidates are welcome to attend the 9am WAWA meeting. Testing starts at 10am.

All testing will be conducted at the Somerset EOC, located at 8 County Drive, Skowhegan, ME 04976.As you enter Skowhegan from Rt. 201 or Rt. 104, go across the two Margaret Chase Smith bridges. As you enter the downtown area, you will enter a "triangle" sort of "Rotary". After leaving bridges, go left around the "rotary", get into right lane. Turn right onto Rt. 201 North. Get into left lane, then turn left at the light. (Just after Hight Chevrolet.) This is Pleasant Street, which turns into Norridgewock Avenue. The Somerset County EOC building is about 1 mile out on the right. Caution: When you turn left at the light, the speed limit is 25 mph all the way to the EOC. They do clock with radar often, as people tend to drive fast there. The Somerset EOC building is right by the 45 mph speed limit sign, on the right. We will be in the building next to the road. Use the entrance facing the dispatch building. As a public building, there is no smoking within 25 feet of the entrance door.

These are tentative dates only. Please check with the contact person before traveling to verify date, time, location and exams being offered. Bring two forms of identification, including a photo I-D as well as the original and photocopies of all current FCC licenses and certificates of successful completion of exam. The photocopies will not be returned. Persons needing special accommodations should check with the contact person in advance of the exam date.
ATTENTION....This is new...Prior to arriving at the site you must have an FRN (FCC Registration Number. If you have an existing license, you have an FRN. You can look it up on the ARRL website, under your call sign. It will list your FRN.
The FCC has approved a $35.00 / 10 year licensing fee.
