When you register a Microsoft account or add an email address to your account, you will need to verify that address. Follow these steps below to verify your Outlook account.
Step 1: Log into your Outlook account.
Step 2: Click your profile icon in the upper-right corner and select View account.
Step 3: Click Your info.
Step 4: Click Manage your sign-in email or phone number.
Step 5: Select a method to verify your identity. You can select either Email "your alternate email address" or Text "your phone number".
Step 6: Depending on what you choose, you might be asked to enter your full secondary email address or the last 4 digits of phone number. Enter it into the box in the middle of the page and click Send code.
Step 7: A message with a confirmation code will be sent to your email address or phone number. Enter it into the Code box and click Verify.
Step 8: You will see a Verify button next to an unverified alias. Click Verify and follow the on-screen instructions to verify your account.
If you didn't receive any security code via the phone number you entered, try again or try a different number. If your code doesn't work, make sure you enter exactly the series number in the message, rather than the header series.
