One of the best ways to find scholarly journal articles is to look in an article database. UCI Libraries subscribes to hundreds of them! Library databases provide access to many different resources such as peer-reviewed scholarly articles, book reviews, interviews, conference proceedings, PhD dissertations, and more, so be sure to evaluate your results and read carefully! Close analysis of what you are reading (before you read it!) helps you to become a more informed and critical researcher. Explore elements such as: the journal it is being published in, the author's credentials, the year it was published, and even the anatomy of the article. Below are the top recommended databases for this course, and if you scroll to the bottom of this page, you'll also have access to some helpful short video tutorials, too!
