VU Ultimate is a Chrome extension designed to provide Virtual University students with study resources, LMS customization, AI-powered learning tools, and other helpful features within VULMS.
VU Ultimate may process the following information when necessary for its features:
Extension installation information: A randomly generated installation ID, extension version, and browser user-agent information may be used for installation and basic usage/error monitoring.
LMS content: Course codes, quiz content, and other relevant VULMS page content may be processed when a student uses features such as AI study assistance and resource tools.
Local preferences: Extension settings, selected themes, viewed announcements, and similar preferences may be stored locally in the user's browser.
Custom profile picture: A custom profile picture selected through the extension is stored locally in the browser and is used to customize the student's LMS profile display.
Information processed by VU Ultimate is used only to:
Provide study resources and LMS features.
Provide AI-powered study assistance.
Customize the VULMS interface.
Maintain extension functionality.
Monitor extension installation and basic technical errors.
Display announcements and updates.
We do not sell user data.
We do not use user data for advertising, credit scoring, lending decisions, or unrelated purposes.
When a student uses an AI-powered feature, relevant LMS content may be sent to the configured AI service to generate the requested response. The extension does not intentionally send passwords or authentication credentials to the AI service.
Students should avoid submitting unnecessary personal or confidential information through AI features.
Where possible, preferences and customization data are stored locally in the user's browser using Chrome storage or browser local storage.
Certain technical information, such as an anonymous installation identifier, extension version, browser user-agent, and technical error information, may be sent to our backend services for extension analytics and troubleshooting.
VU Ultimate may communicate with third-party services required to provide specific functionality, including:
Backend/database services used for announcements, extension analytics, and configuration.
AI services used to provide AI-powered study features.
Public resources/CDN services used for certain educational content.
These services receive only the information necessary for the relevant feature.
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by the extension. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
Technical analytics and error information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for maintaining and improving the extension. Locally stored information remains in the user's browser until the user removes it or clears the extension's stored data.
VU Ultimate is intended for students using Virtual University LMS and is not specifically directed toward children under 13.
