This Privacy Policy describes how Vunio - Media Player ("Vunio", "the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Key Point: Vunio is a media player tool. We do not provide, host, stream, store, or distribute any media content, channels, playlists, or IPTV subscriptions. The App contains no pre-loaded content of any kind. All content accessed through Vunio is sourced entirely by the user from their own external sources.
1.1 Information You Provide
When you use Vunio, you may enter playlist URLs (M3U/M3U8) or streaming service credentials (Xtream Codes) to connect to your own content sources. This information is stored exclusively on your device using encrypted local storage. We never transmit, collect, or have access to your playlist URLs, login credentials, or any content source information.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
Vunio uses Firebase Remote Config solely to check whether a mandatory app update is available. During this process, Firebase may collect minimal technical data such as:
App version and build number
Device type and operating system version
Firebase installation ID (a randomly generated identifier)
This data is processed by Google Firebase under their own privacy policy and is used exclusively for delivering configuration values to the App.
1.3 Advertising
Vunio displays advertisements through Google AdMob. In order to serve ads, AdMob and its advertising partners may automatically collect certain information, including:
Advertising ID (a resettable, anonymous device identifier)
Device type, model, and operating system version
IP address (used to determine approximate, non-precise location for ad relevance)
App usage and interaction data related to ad impressions and clicks
This data is collected and processed by Google AdMob and its advertising partners under their respective privacy policies. We do not have access to or control over the specific data collected by ad networks. You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device's ad settings or resetting your Advertising ID. For more information, see Google's Advertising Privacy Policy.
1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or process:
Your name, email address, phone number, or physical address
Payment or financial information
Location data (GPS, network-based, or otherwise)
Contacts, photos, or files on your device
Browsing history or viewing history
Content of any streams or media you access
Your playlist URLs, M3U files, or streaming credentials
Personally identifiable advertising profiles
The minimal technical data collected via Firebase Remote Config is used solely to:
Determine whether the installed App version meets the minimum required version
Deliver mandatory update notifications when critical fixes are available
We do not use any first-party collected data for marketing or profiling. Advertising data is collected and processed solely by Google AdMob and its partners for the purpose of serving relevant ads within the App.
All user-entered data (playlist URLs, streaming credentials, preferences, viewing progress, and favorites) is stored locally on your device only, using industry-standard encrypted storage (AES encryption via platform-native keystores). This data never leaves your device through our App.
When you uninstall Vunio, all locally stored data is permanently deleted by the operating system.
We do not sell, trade, rent, or share any personal information with third parties.
The App uses the following third-party service:
Google Firebase Remote Config — for delivering app configuration values. Firebase operates under Google's Privacy Policy.
Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements within the App. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and interaction data to serve and measure ads. AdMob operates under Google's Advertising Policy. You can manage your ad preferences or opt out of personalized ads via your device settings.
When you enter a playlist URL or streaming credentials, your device connects directly to those external servers. We have no involvement in, control over, or access to those connections. The privacy practices of those external services are governed by their respective operators.
Google Firebase Crashlytics — for collecting anonymous crash reports and diagnostic data to improve app stability. Crashlytics may collect device model, OS version, and crash stack traces. No personally identifiable information is collected. Crashlytics operates under Google's Privacy Policy.
Important: Vunio is a general-purpose media player application. We do not provide, host, distribute, store, cache, or control any media content whatsoever.
5.1 Vunio functions exclusively as a media playback tool that allows users to play content from URLs and sources that users themselves provide. The App ships with no channels, no playlists, no streaming links, and no content of any kind.
5.2 We are not an IPTV service provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any IPTV provider, content distributor, broadcaster, telecommunications company, or streaming service.
5.3 We do not support, endorse, promote, or encourage the use of our App for accessing unauthorized, pirated, or illegally distributed content. Any use of the App to access copyrighted material without proper authorization from the rights holder is strictly prohibited and is solely the responsibility of the user.
5.4 Users are solely and entirely responsible for:
The legality of the content sources they access through the App
Ensuring that their use of any content complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and copyright requirements in their jurisdiction
Obtaining proper authorization or licenses for any content they access
The accuracy and legitimacy of any URLs, credentials, or playlists they enter into the App
5.5 We have no ability to monitor, verify, filter, or control what content users choose to access through external sources. We have no knowledge of what content any individual user accesses.
5.6 We reserve the right to cooperate fully with any law enforcement authorities or court orders requesting or directing us to disclose information, to the extent such information is available to us.
Vunio respects intellectual property rights and expects its users to do the same. We comply with applicable copyright laws, including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe that content accessible through a source used with our App infringes your copyright, please contact the operator of that content source directly, as we do not host, store, or control any content.
Vunio is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since our App does not collect personal information from any user, no special provisions for children's data are necessary. However, parental supervision is recommended for all minors using the App.
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data under regulations such as the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK / Law No. 6698), or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Since Vunio does not collect, store, or process personal data on our servers, most data-related rights are inherently fulfilled:
Right of Access: All your data is stored locally on your device and is fully accessible to you at all times.
Right to Rectification: You can modify any data stored by the App (playlists, credentials, preferences) directly within the App at any time.
Right to Erasure: You can delete all App data by clearing the App's storage from your device settings or by uninstalling the App.
Right to Data Portability: Your data resides on your device and is under your full control.
Right to Object: The minimal Firebase Remote Config data processing is based on our legitimate interest in ensuring app security through mandatory updates. You may contact us to object to this processing.
For KVKK purposes: The data controller is identified in the Contact section below. Advertising-related data (Advertising ID, IP address, device information) may be transferred to Google LLC (United States) through AdMob for the purpose of serving advertisements, in accordance with Google's data processing terms and applicable safeguards. The lawful basis for Firebase Remote Config processing is legitimate interest (application security and integrity). The lawful basis for AdMob data processing is consent, which you may withdraw at any time by disabling personalized ads in your device settings.
We do not retain any user data on our servers. All data stored by the App resides on your device and persists until you clear the App data or uninstall the App. Firebase installation identifiers are managed by Google and are subject to Google's data retention policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim any and all liability for:
Any content accessed by users through external sources using the App
Any damages, losses, or legal consequences arising from a user's access to unauthorized, illegal, or infringing content
The availability, quality, accuracy, or legality of any content or service provided by third-party sources
Any actions taken by third-party content source operators
