1. Avian Influenza (AI) has two strains (low and high pathogenic AI) that circulate in the poultry population and causes many issues with farmers as they have to cull their poultry once they discover a chicken infected with AI. To understand the interplay between low and high pathogenic AI, we studied the impact of migration on the competition between these two strains. In addition, we compared two different methodologies for computing the basic reproduction number for AI to determine the strengths and weaknesses of each method.
