Welcome! You are now starting Module 1
The module 1 aims to develop participants’ ability for conscious and active observation, while strengthening critical thinking and the formulation of meaningful questions through the Socratic method. It also seeks to encourage the use of visual metaphors to represent complex concepts and stimulate creative connections, promoting a dialogical and participatory learning process.
Its overall purpose is to integrate Visual Thinking with philosophical reflection in an innovative way, enhancing transversal skills such as creativity, analysis, and collaboration. The module offers an experiential approach that makes philosophy a concrete tool for observing, understanding, and transforming reality, proposing a replicable educational model grounded in artistic experimentation and visual design.
Module developed by La Chiave di Sophia.
The module 1, structured in five lessons, guides participants through a pathway that integrates philosophy, visual arts, and Visual Thinking strategies. It begins with conscious observation inspired by Merleau-Ponty, then explores the power of Socratic questioning and the creative potential of visual metaphors. The journey continues with Dewey’s philosophy of dialogue, which encourages active learning and co-creation, and reaches the interpretative and exploratory dimension of knowledge with Gadamer. The module concludes with a practical activity dedicated to creative design, inspired by Bruno Munari, allowing participants to develop a final visual-philosophical project.
