The main objective of our project was to create an immersive escape room-like experience that puts the user in three different environments. We wanted to observe the effects of increasing difficulty in an immersive environment on a user’s overall immersion, action speed, and motion sickness. The primary questions we wanted to answer with our project were whether having a player be chased in an escape scenario affects how accurately they can perform tasks and whether the use of 3D audio attached to their pursuer effects how they perform those tasks and its overall effect on their level of immersion. The ability to answer these questions would come with the requirement of creating a survey where testers could share what their experience was like in the game and assess their own levels of immersion, stress, motion sickness and a self reflection of how their decision-making was affected.
