Summer Drawing Challenge 2026 is here!
3-5 Summer Drawing Challenge
Summer is a great time to work on our drawing skills as we visit new places and see new things. I would like to challenge any students who are willing to complete 10 drawings (one per week) during the summer months. These drawings can be any size, but must be COMPLETE, with a subject and a background. Fill the page! Color is optional. Those who complete this challenge can have their work displayed at the beginning of the year (if they want to) and will get their name on my “Wall of Fame” in the art room next year! This is for students who will be going into grades 3-5.
Here are the 10 drawing assignments:
1. Draw something you see inside of your home and everything behind it.
2. Draw something you see outside of your home and everything behind it.
3. Draw a map of somewhere real or pretend.
4. Draw the window of your room and what you see out of it.
5. Draw the window of your room and what you WISH you could see out of it.
6. Draw your very favorite object all by itself with a lot of detail.
7. Draw a shoe by itself with a lot of detail. It can belong to you or another member of your family.
8. Draw any room in your home with as much detail as possible.
9. Draw from memory one place you visited this summer.
10. Draw from your imagination one place you WISH you could visit this summer.
These are the 10 drawings required for the challenge. But, if you want to do more drawings than these 10, feel free! Draw whatever you want and bring them in to share.
Turn in all of your drawings to me with your name in the bottom corner of each drawing during the first week of school.
HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!!
