Summary
Vrat Sathi does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. The app runs entirely on your device. No account, no login, no internet connection is required to use any feature.
Data we collect
None. We do not collect any of the following:
Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, address)
Device identifiers (advertising ID, IMEI, MAC address, Android ID)
Location data (GPS or otherwise)
Contacts, calendar entries, photos, or files
Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry
Financial or payment information
Health, fitness, or biometric data
Browsing history or search queries
The app contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no third-party tracker, and makes no network requests during normal use.
Data stored on your device
The app stores the following locally on your device using Android's standard SharedPreferences storage. This data never leaves your device:
Your selected language preference (Hindi, English, or both)
Your selected city for sunrise/sunset display
Your reminder preferences for Ekadashi fasts
Scheduled local notification times
You can delete all of this data at any time by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings or by uninstalling the app.
Permissions used
Vrat Sathi requests the following Android permissions. None of these are used to collect or transmit data:
POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to display Sankalp and paaran reminders on the lock screen.
USE_EXACT_ALARM / SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — to fire fast-day reminders at the exact religiously significant time (sunrise paaran, evening Sankalp). Required because Android's inexact alarms can drift by hours.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — to re-schedule your reminders after the device restarts, so notifications continue to work without reopening the app.
The app does not request the INTERNET permission at runtime and cannot send data off the device.
Third-party services
Vrat Sathi does not use any third-party service, SDK, or backend. There are no integrations with Google Analytics, Firebase, Facebook SDK, advertising networks, or any other third-party data processor.
Children's privacy
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Since no data is collected at all, no children's data is collected.
Data sharing and sale
Because we collect no data, we have no data to share or sell. No data is transferred to advertisers, data brokers, governments, or any third party.
Data retention and deletion
All app data lives on your device only. To delete it:
Clear app data — Android Settings → Apps → Vrat Sathi → Storage → Clear data.
Uninstall the app — removes all stored preferences and scheduled reminders.
No further action by us is required because we hold no copy of your data.
Security
All app data is stored in Android's per-app private storage, sandboxed from other apps by the operating system. Because nothing is transmitted, there is no transit encryption to discuss.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in the future, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and announce the change in the app's release notes on the Google Play Store. Continued use of the app after such a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
