Ph.D. Students: I am looking for motivated PhD students interested in communication systems, networks, and information processing, broadly defined. Research topics span wireless communications, optical/fiber systems, physical-layer security, coding and modulation, information theory, signal processing for communications, and learning-inspired communication methods. Projects involve modeling, analysis, and system-level understanding, with flexibility to balance theory, simulation, and applications depending on the student’s background. Students from ECE/EE, Applied Mathematics, or related areas are encouraged to apply. Interested candidates may email a CV, transcripts, and a brief note on their interests to me at vramachandran[AT]iitj.ac.in. The advertisement is open throughout the year.
M.Tech. Students: I offer M.Tech thesis projects in wireless and optical communications, coding and signal processing, communication security, and learning-aided communication systems. To further discuss, feel free to email me at vramachandran[AT]iitj.ac.in.
Postdoctoral Fellows: We welcome discussions on hosting postdocs supported by various national schemes such as ANRF-National Postdoctoral Fellowship (NPDF), and NBHM Postdoctoral Fellowships (open throughout the year), as well as other relevant schemes. If you are eligible and are interested to join our group, please contact at least a couple of weeks before the relevant fellowship application starts. Please email me at vramachandran[AT]iitj.ac.in with your CV and cover letter. For more details about NPDF, please visit the official page here, and for NBHM, here.
