VoxLeaf-Listen to PDFs & Text Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how VoxLeaf-Listen to PDFs & Text (“VoxLeaf,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the App.

VoxLeaf is designed primarily to process content locally on your device. We do not provide user accounts, developer-operated cloud synchronization, or developer-controlled cloud storage for your documents.

1. Information and Content Processed by the App

Depending on how you use VoxLeaf, the App may process the following content and information:

Except where otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, this information is processed and stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to servers controlled by us.

2. Image Recognition and PDF Processing

VoxLeaf uses Apple-provided system technologies to perform image text recognition, PDF text extraction, and related document processing on your device.

Images, PDF files, and recognized or extracted text are not uploaded to servers controlled by us for OCR or PDF processing.

Processing content locally within the App does not mean that we collect or possess that content.

3. Text-to-Speech

VoxLeaf uses the text-to-speech functionality provided by iOS to read text aloud.

The App does not send your text to developer-operated servers or third-party online text-to-speech services for speech generation.

Your selected language, system voice, speech speed, and related reading preferences may be stored locally on your device so that the App can remember your settings.

4. Website Import

VoxLeaf allows you to enter a website URL and extract readable text from the webpage.

When you use this feature, the App connects directly to the website you enter. Loading a website may also cause requests to be made to resources used by that website, such as images, scripts, content delivery networks, or other services.

As a result, the website and its service providers may receive information normally transmitted through an internet connection, such as your IP address and certain device or network information.

Third-party websites may also use cookies or other technologies according to their own privacy policies and practices. We do not control the privacy or data-processing practices of third-party websites.

VoxLeaf uses non-persistent web data storage for webpage processing and does not intentionally maintain ordinary webpage cookies and browser cache as a long-term browsing history.

After webpage content is successfully extracted, the article title and text may be stored locally as part of your reading history. The original URL is not currently stored as a long-term reading-history field.

VoxLeaf does not provide or curate third-party articles or websites. Website import is initiated by URLs entered by the user.

5. Reading History

When you use the reading features of VoxLeaf, the App may automatically store reading information locally on your device, including:

Saving may occur automatically as part of the reading experience, including when you leave a reading page. You do not necessarily need to manually select a separate “Save” action for information to be stored in reading history.

6. Camera and Photos

Camera

If you choose to scan a document using the camera, VoxLeaf may request access to your device camera.

Camera access is used only to capture content that you choose to scan and recognize.

You may deny or revoke camera permission through iOS Settings. If you do so, camera-based document scanning will not be available.

Photos

VoxLeaf uses the iOS system photo picker to allow you to select specific images.

The App does not require access to your entire photo library merely to select images through the system photo picker.

Images selected or captured for recognition are used for the requested processing. VoxLeaf does not automatically save captured scan images back to your system photo library.

7. File Import

You may choose PDF files through the iOS system file picker.

VoxLeaf accesses files selected by you as necessary to extract or recognize their contents. The original PDF is not uploaded to servers controlled by us.

Text extracted or recognized from a PDF may be stored locally in your reading history.

8. Exporting and Sharing

VoxLeaf allows you to export or share supported content.

When you choose to share content, the App may provide the selected text, file, or exported content to the iOS system sharing interface.

If you choose a third-party destination such as Mail, Messages, cloud storage, a social platform, or another application, the selected content will be transferred to that service or application.

Once information leaves VoxLeaf, its processing is controlled by the receiving service and is subject to that service's privacy policy and terms.

We do not control how third-party applications or services process information that you voluntarily choose to send to them.

9. Local Storage and Device Backups

Reading history, application preferences, and related application data are stored within the App's local storage on your device.

VoxLeaf does not currently provide developer-operated account synchronization or cloud document storage.

Depending on your Apple device settings, locally stored application data may be included in iCloud backups or other Apple device backups.

Because device backups are controlled by Apple and by your device settings, we cannot guarantee that information stored locally will remain exclusively on the current physical device.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Locally stored reading history generally remains on your device until:

Uninstalling the App normally removes its local application data from the device.

However, copies of application data may remain in device backups according to your Apple backup settings and Apple's applicable policies.

We cannot remotely access or delete content that exists only on your device or in your personal Apple device backups.

You can manage locally stored reading history within the App and manage device storage and backups through the applicable iOS and Apple settings.

11. Information We Do Not Currently Collect

The current version of VoxLeaf does not provide or use:

If the App's functionality or data practices change in the future, this Privacy Policy may be updated accordingly.

12. Customer Support Communications

If you voluntarily contact us by email, we may receive information such as your email address, the contents of your message, and any information or attachments that you choose to provide.

We use this information only as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, provide support, resolve problems, or communicate with you regarding your request.

Support communications are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to address the relevant request or for legitimate administrative or legal purposes.

You may contact us to request deletion of information that you previously provided directly to us through customer-support communications, subject to any applicable legal retention requirements.

13. Sale, Advertising, and Tracking

We do not sell personal information.

We do not provide your locally processed documents or content to advertising networks or data brokers.

We do not use your information for cross-app or cross-website tracking, targeted advertising, or advertising measurement.

When you voluntarily visit a third-party website through the website-import feature or voluntarily share information with another application or service, the resulting disclosure is initiated by you and is subject to the practices of the applicable third party.

14. Data Security

VoxLeaf relies on iOS application sandboxing, system permission controls, and other device security mechanisms to help protect locally stored information.

Nevertheless, no electronic storage system or security mechanism can guarantee absolute security.

Users should consider the sensitivity of the documents and information they choose to scan, import, store, export, or share using the App.

15. Children's Privacy

VoxLeaf is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13.

The App is not intended for inclusion in the App Store Kids Category.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through developer-operated accounts, advertising, analytics, or cloud services.

If the App's functionality changes in a way that involves collecting personal information from children, we will review and update our practices as required by applicable law.

16. Third-Party Services and Websites

VoxLeaf may interact with third-party websites or applications when you choose to import content from a URL, export content, or share content.

Third-party services operate independently from VoxLeaf. Their collection, use, storage, and disclosure of information are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third-party services before providing information to them.

17. Your Privacy Choices

Because most content handled by VoxLeaf is stored locally and we do not maintain a server-side copy, we generally cannot access, modify, or delete your locally stored documents on your behalf.

You may:

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App's functionality, data practices, legal requirements, or operational practices change.

Any updated version will replace the previous version when made available through the App, our applicable webpage, or other appropriate location.

We encourage users to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
