About Me

I am excited to announce my candidacy for Westwood School Committee. My wife, Tara, and I have four children who range in age from 4 to 15 years old. I am committed to making sure the district meets the needs of all students. We need to maintain academic excellence and be fiscally responsible at the same time. My financial background will help us achieve this. If elected, one of my priorities will be to work with our superintendent and educators to enhance the quality of education in Westwood.

Another priority for me would be the social-emotional well-being of all students. The pandemic created a mental health crisis for kids across the country. We need to provide support for ALL students. To help achieve this I would like to bring The Science of Well-Being Project (https://www.drlauriesantos.com/science-well-being) to Westwood Middle and High Schools.

A little background on me; I grew up in Hanover, MA where I went to public school. I went to Wesleyan University, where I played football. After graduating, I went to Copenhagen to play football, then went to work on Wall Street for several years. My business took me to the Virgin Islands where we lived before settling as a family in Westwood.

I have volunteered for the USVI chapter of Junior Achievement and volunteered for an annual fundraising event to raise money for an orphanage on St. Croix. In Westwood, I have been a volunteer coach for soccer, football, softball, and t-ball. I am currently on the Board of Directors for the Westwood Booster Club. I have also volunteered for numerous Martha Jones PTO events.

I pride myself on being able to work with all people to achieve a common goal. In this case, it would be championing the needs of all students in Westwood.

I would be honored to have your vote on Tuesday, April 25th.
