Scott Fletcher – Candidate for Davis County Commissioner Seat A
Scott Fletcher is a lifelong resident of Davis County, with more than 60 years of deep roots in the community. He grew up in Centerville and Bountiful, where his family has long been involved as farmers, civic volunteers, and community leaders. Scott’s ancestry in Davis County goes back more than 100 years and includes service as President of the historic Growers Market, State Senator, Davis County Commissioner, and leadership in numerous civic organizations. This legacy of service inspired Scott to follow the same path of giving back to the community he calls home.
Scott has served as a County and State Delegate, participated in both the Davis and Salt Lake Chambers of Commerce, and served as Vice Chair of the Davis County Republican Party. His long-standing involvement across both the north and south ends of Davis County gives him a practical, firsthand understanding of the challenges facing the county today—growth, infrastructure, economic development, and responsible use of taxpayer dollars.
Scott and his wife of more than 40 years live in Layton, Utah. All four of their children, their spouses, and eleven grandchildren also live in Davis County. Like many families, Scott is invested in ensuring Davis County remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family—not just today, but for future generations.
Scott attended Davis School District schools and later graduated from a Utah university with a degree in Applied Physics and a minor in Mathematics. He also served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Geneva, Switzerland, an experience that strengthened his commitment to service, discipline, and leadership.
Professionally, Scott brings more than 40 years of leadership experience in both the commercial and private sectors. He has led large-scale programs as a Program Manager, Project Engineer, Chief Engineer, and Senior Executive, overseeing projects ranging from millions to billions of dollars annually. His career has required disciplined decision-making, accountability, and the ability to balance budgets, schedules, risk, and results.
Scott also spent nearly 11 years working directly with state and national governments, including House and Senate authorization and appropriation committees, congressional members within those committees, and the support organizations such as the Department of Defense, Research and Development, Industrial Base, etc..., helping assess and allocate funding based on strategic priorities. Through this work, and his service within our community, he has developed strong relationships throughout Davis County, giving him valuable insight into budgets, economic development, workforce needs, and business growth.
As Davis County Commissioner, Scott Fletcher will bring a data-driven, results-oriented approach, grounded in decades of leadership experience and a lifetime commitment to Davis County. His goal is simple: responsible efficient government, transparency, citizen participation, smart growth, and a strong future for our community.
