To remain a qualified registered voter, the law requires you to notify your local registration office of any change in your name or address. This must be done before the registration books close for the next election. See Registration Deadlines for additional information on close of registration books. Changes cannot be made during the 21 day period before any general or primary election or during the 12 day period before a special election.

Alternatively, a voter who possesses an acceptable form of photo ID but does not have it at the polling place, or a voter who does not possess an acceptable form of photo ID, and is reasonably able to obtain one, may choose to leave the polling place and return before the close of the polls on election day with an acceptable form of photo ID to vote a regular ballot at that time. In addition, a voter who does not possess, would otherwise not be able to reasonably obtain an acceptable form of photo ID, but did not bring a supporting form of ID to the polling place, may choose to leave the polling place and return before the close of the polls on election day with said supporting form of ID to fill out the Reasonable Impediment Declaration and, if they otherwise qualify, vote a regular ballot at that time.

With the exception of the U.S. Citizenship Certificate, for voters aged 18-69, the identification must be current or have expired no more than 4 years before being presented for voter qualification at the polling place. Voters aged 70 or older may use one of the seven acceptable forms of photo ID that has expired for any length of time if the identification is otherwise valid.

Make sure you read the appropriate registration information before you register online using Maryland's Online Voter Registration System (OLVR) or before you download the Voter Registration Application.

To submit your registration electronically, you must provide a valid Maryland-issued state ID number or driver's license number. If you reside outside of the United States or are a member of the military or spouse or dependent of a member of the military, you can provide the last four digits of your US social security number. If you provide a social security number, it will be used as your official voter registration signature.

If you do not have the required ID or if you do not wish to submit your application online, you may use this website to complete your application and then print out your application at any point in the process. You will need to complete the information by hand, sign the application, and mail it to your local board of elections.

Please fill out and print the Voter Registration Application form following the instructions provided with it. Be sure to sign the form where appropriate before mailing it. The Voter Registration Application form cannot be processed without an ORIGINAL signature.

Access various types of North Carolina voter registration data on this page. View current voter-level registration records or snapshots of voter registration records across 15+ years. You may also view current group-level voter demographic counts or election-specific voter demographic counts over the last 20+ years.

These voter registration files contain the most up-to-date publicly available information for individuals registered or formerly registered to vote in North Carolina, as well as individuals who have attempted to register or have steps left uncompleted in the registration process. Formerly registered ('Removed') voters are omitted from the files if their most recent last-voted date is greater than 10 years.

When are the files updated? The files are updated weekly on Saturday mornings. After each election, it may take multiple days for all 100 counties to finalize their voter registration.

Voter registration snapshot files provide a point-in-time snapshot of information for active and inactive voters, as well as removed voters going back for a period of ten years. There are two types of voter registration snapshot files: those taken on Election Day, and those taken on the first day of each year. These are located in the Voter Registration Snapshots folder on our FTP site.

The Voter Registration Statistics Search is the voter tool you can use to find registration numbers broken down by county and voter demographics: political affiliation, race and gender. The data are refreshed weekly on Saturday morning.

To register to vote you must complete a voter registration application on paper or online at RegisterToVote.ca.gov. When you register online, the system will search the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) database for your California driver license or identification card number, date of birth, and last four digits of your social security number. If your information is found and you authorize elections officials' use of your DMV signature, an electronic image of your DMV signature will be added to your voter registration application after you click "submit" at the end of the online application. If there is no signature on file with DMV, all of your information will be transmitted to your county elections office; you will just need to click "print," sign the paper application, and mail it. Your county elections official will contact you when your voter registration application is approved or if more information is needed to confirm your eligibility.

You may submit your voter registration application online at RegisterToVote.ca.gov. You can also pick up a paper application at your county elections office, any Department of Motor Vehicles field office, and many post offices, public libraries, and government offices. To have an application mailed to you, call your county elections office or the Secretary of State's toll-free Voter Hotline at (800) 345-VOTE (8683). 152ee80cbc
