Better for Ward 2... Better for Annapolis
Experience - Leadership - Listening
Veteran - FBI Special Agent - Educator - Public Servant
After retiring from the FBI and then as a teacher, I relocated to Annapolis in 2020 to help coach the varsity water polo team at the U.S. Naval Academy. My wife, Kerri, and I chose Annapolis as our forever hometown and settled into the West Annapolis neighborhood. This move to Annapolis is the first move that I have chosen to make as the rest of my career postings were determined by the needs of the government and the military. I have been extremely privileged to have this new opportunity to be a part of the lives of the young men and women who will be serving in our military!
I grew up in New Jersey in a family of six children, and my father worked at the local factory in our town. Throughout my childhood, my parents instilled in me the values of hard work, integrity, and faith. I was very fortunate to receive an Air Force ROTC scholarship, and I graduated from college with a degree in engineering. After college, I served in the Air Force in California, Korea, and Washington, DC. After leaving active duty, I was appointed as a Special Agent with the FBI. I was assigned to several offices throughout the country and worked on investigations involving violent crimes, civil rights, and terrorism matters. After retiring from the FBI, I wanted to help young men and women advance their educational opportunities, so I became a public school high school teacher and retired before moving to Annapolis when my children had left home and pursued their careers.
I am now seeking to serve you as the Annapolis Ward 2 Alderman to utilize my years of experience to make a better Ward 2 and a better Annapolis. Throughout the years, I have always sought to be involved in my community by serving alongside my community members in a number of areas that tug on my heartstrings. The following are just some example of my community service and involvement:
· Volunteer Firefighter/EMT/Paramedic in New Jersey, Montgomery County, MD and Spotsylvania, VA
· Club water polo coach in the greater DMV
· Volunteer youth soccer, basketball, baseball coach
· Volunteer worker with the Thurman Brisben Center (homeless shelter) Fredericksburg
· Active in and Treasurer of the PTA at our children’s elementary school
· Member of the at EP Annapolis Church and volunteer in college ministry and the Community Outreach Programs at EP Church including the Winter Relief (homeless shelter) and the Marshall Hope Food Bank and Afghan refugee resettlement program.
