Chris Kyle for Ward 1 City Council

Family First. Community Always. Better Together.

Rooted in Ward 1

I’m Chris Kyle — a father, 23-year elementary school teacher, and proud Ward 1 neighbor.

Raising My Family Here

I’ve lived in Ward 1 for 22 years, and I’m raising my 13-year-old twins here, the only community they’ve ever known. Like every parent, I want our kids to feel safe riding their bikes, walking our neighborhoods, and growing up in a city that truly looks out for them. I want them to receive a strong education, appreciate our history, and love St. Charles as much as I do.

A Life of Service

Outside the classroom, I volunteer as a youth coach with the St. Charles Wrestling Club and the St. Charles Soccer Club (STC FC Sharks). Investing time in our kids, teamwork, and character matters to me; being present for families matters.

How I Lead

Teaching, parenting, and volunteering have shaped how I lead. Every day as an educator, I work with children and families by listening, problem-solving, and helping young people feel safe, supported, and confident. That experience has taught me that leadership starts with patience, empathy, and doing what’s right — even when it’s hard.

Building a Stronger St. Charles

I believe in supporting local businesses and creating a city where families, neighborhoods, and businesses can coexist in a respectful, neighborly way that benefits everyone. A strong community thrives when we support one another.

I proudly support our first responders, schools, and educators, and I will always fight to protect our historic buildings, heritage, and community character while planning responsibly for the future.

Present. Accessible. Accountable.

Most importantly, I am present. I show up. I attend community events. I listen to residents. I get to know people. I value hearing different perspectives, doing my due diligence, learning the facts, and communicating openly — especially when decisions are difficult.

I don’t believe leadership is about titles or politics.

I believe it’s about trust, transparency, and service.

My Commitment

If elected, I promise this:

Ward 1 deserves a councilmember who is accessible, engaged, and always putting families and community first.
