Schools must be run in the absolute best interest of students, not managed like corporate entities. I will champion a return to core educational and community values.
Our current curriculum is failing to respond to the real needs of students. Educators must have the proper resources to teach and inspire, and they deserve a real voice in shaping our next generation.
Our schools are underfunded and underserved. I will aggressively advocate for hiring more Educational Assistants (EAs) and Child and Youth Counsellors (CYCs) to give overworked teachers and special needs students the vital support they lack.
I will advocate for cutting top-heavy, unnecessary costs at administrative and leadership levels, redirecting those savings straight back into front-line classroom supports.
Under the current system, parent councils are forced to fundraise tens of thousands of dollars to replace decrepit playgrounds—a capital cost previously covered by the board. It is fundamentally unfair to offload school infrastructure onto volunteer parents.

As a lifelong resident of Guelph who has raised my family here in the community for over 30 years, I care deeply about the local schools our children rely on. I am a newly retired 19-year school board employee. In my role as CUPE union president, I worked directly and collaboratively with all levels of upper management, managing labor relations and complex budgets. I am running to bring accountability, experience, and a student-first focus back to our classrooms.
